Baseless

Baseless started out as a College Indie-Rock band based in Holland. Their music is a combination of rock and pop, kind of like fusing Franz Ferdinand with Foo Fighters. The band members come from different countries such as Brazil, Germany, Bulgaria as well as the Netherlands. This gives the music a real blend of different sounds and influences. The original band was started in 2003 on the campus University College Utrecht. The initial band was grunge driven; playing covers by Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Guns & Roses and the infamous Stone Temple Pilots. After a hiatus year between 2004 and the first half of 2005, the band reformed in september 2005. Despite early success and the releasing of My Girl (January 2005) to Platex records the band enjoyed only modest success in the Netherlands. In alternative media in the United States the band fared much better but without a complete first album the Baseless was not able to gun for a support act spot in a nationwide tour. 2006 started with a number of concerts and radio appearances in anticipation and support of their new single Santos. A delayed release and prior commitments prevented the band from promoting and touring extensively. The band had a closing performance in Ekko December 2006, after which Baseless released Live, Uncut & Unplugged, a posthumous record that featured demo's and live performances. Discography.
