Redwood


There are at least seven artists that have performed under the name Redwood. In chronological order, they are: 1.) Redwood was the name under which an early version of Three Dog Night recorded demo material with Brian Wilson in 1967. 2.) A second Redwood hails from Guildford, UK. (Active: 1989 - present; band webpage http://www.redwood.org.uk) The Guildford-based band released their first self financed album Slow Train in 1989. This was followed by Head (including the fave live track Sad Sick World) and many more albums followed eventually building to a signing with US label Almo Sounds (offshoot of A&M records) in 1997. An album Colourblind closely followed, produced by Mark Wallis (U2), with many singles, videos, tours and all things rock n roll. Following the collapse of Almo Sounds a few years later the band continued to release their own music once again (the Lazydog EP), and are still writing and playing (although the gigs tend to be once a year now). A collection of B-sides and unreleased tracks was in the pipeline for 2007. 3.) Redwood was a band based in Switzerland. (Active: 1997 - present; band webpage http://www.redwood.ch) From 1997 to 1998 the Swiss band toured and entered band competitions. In 1999, they recorded a demo for their fans. This was followed by a five track EP and a club tour of the USA in 2000. In 2002-2003, they recorded their debut album with the producing team of Horstmann and Meinen at M-Box Studios in Germany.
