It went crazy after September 11th
The news reporting in this country went completely nuts
All of them, CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN
Any of the ones, those basic 24-hour Fox Network news
Totally insane

What we needed, literally, on September 12th and the week that followed
Was a very precise history lesson of the country that we were dealing with
And the people that we were dealing with
And the religion that we were dealing with
But we didn't get that

That's the way it should have been
Because none of us wanted to go through it
If anybody had been said, like on September tenth
Well, you know, this week we're all going to stop
And we're going to have a history lesson about Afghanistan

And then we're going to study Islam in a group called the Taliban
And everybody in the room would go, ah, fuck you
But that's what needed to be done
And it wasn't done
What was done was that they couldn't get information to us fast enough

All of a sudden, there was more information
Then had ever existed at any point in time
So they all started running that fucking thing on the bottom
With information going this way
Going as fast as possible
