There are at least four known bands with the name Magneto. 1) Magneto was a superstar Mexican boy band in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1986, Magneto was featured in Siempre en Domingo, a Spanish entertainment show viewed across Latin America and parts of Europe. The group's biggest international hit, Vuela, Vuela, was a Spanish-language version of Desireless' Voyage, Voyage. The clasic Magneto lineup -- Alex, Alan, Charlie, Mauri and Elias -- recorded four albums together between 1989 and 1993. They also starred in a big-screen motion picture, Cambiando El Destino, that was released in 1992. The group split in 1996 after a farewell performance at the Plaza de Toros in Mexico. In 2001, the classic lineup reunited as XMagneto for a tour and a greatest-hits disc.
